HOW IT WORKS

From raw files to analysis.
No database to set up.

01

Open a raw file

Load CSV, JSON, Parquet or Excel directly into the local workspace.

02

Query and analyse

Read columns and JSON, write SQL, check the execution profile and create analyses.

03

Download the workspace

Save a portable .rawql snapshot with files, SQL, notebooks and database objects.

EXPLORE THE STRUCTURE

Understand complex columns.
Explore JSON with graph and tree visuals.

Check inferred types, frequent values and missing data directly in the result table. Open a JSON cell to explore its nested structure.

QUERY PROFILE · CHARTS AND PIVOTS

Understand the execution.
Explore the result.

Read the query plan when you need to investigate a run. Use charts and pivots when you need to understand the returned data.

QUERY PROFILE

Follow the execution.

See the operator graph, rows scanned and time spent in each step. Select a node in the editor to inspect its details.

Follow a CSV scan, aggregation and sort. This query groups 240 events into 12 results.Editor recording · Sample data
CHARTS AND PIVOTS

Read the result visually.

Choose a chart type, axis and aggregation from the returned columns. Switch between Table, Chart and Pivot in the results panel.

Compare revenue by country in a chart, then explore event totals in a pivot table.Editor recording · Sample data
Charts and pivots work with your query results.
LOCAL BY DESIGN

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before you
get started.

Formats, limits and what happens to your data.

Ask a question
Where are my files processed?

Raw files are read and queried in your browser using DuckDB WebAssembly. Raw file contents are not uploaded to the RawQL server.

Which file formats can I use?

RawQL supports CSV, JSON, Parquet, and Excel (.xlsx, .xls). Legacy .xls files are converted locally before DuckDB reads them.

What does a .rawql workspace snapshot contain?

A snapshot is a portable file you download and manage locally. It can carry workspace files, SQL, notebooks, and database objects together so you can reopen the work later. It is not cloud backup or sync.

What does Query Profile show?

Query Profile exposes the operators, row counts, and execution details for a query run.

Are dashboards and model lineage available?

Charts and pivots are available now. Dashboards are planned, and model lineage is still in development.

What are the import limits?

Import up to three files per session, with a maximum of 100 MB per file. Query performance depends on your device.
